The faculty and students of the Institute of Medical Technology visited Huarong Ketchon Biotech Co., Ltd.

On November 22, 2024, Professor Han Hongbin, Director of the Institute of Medical Technology at Peking University Health Science Center, along with Ma Xinlei, a teacher from the College's Teaching Office, and nine graduate and undergraduate students, visited Huarong Ketchon Biotech (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. in Binhai New Area, Tianjin. The purpose of this visit was to promote academic exchange, expand industry-university-research cooperation channels, and gain insight into the latest research advancements and innovative technologies in the field of biotechnology.

Ms. Liu Lina, General Manager of Huarong Ketchon, accompanied by the company's key leaders and frontline production and technical experts, guided Professor Han Hongbin and his team through the company's cultural exhibition and conducted an on-site inspection of the production facilities. During the visit, Professor Han gained a deep understanding of the company's innovative achievements in the biotechnology field and engaged in in-depth discussions with relevant leaders from the perspective of an experienced medical researcher. The company focuses on the biomedical field and is committed to developing advanced medical technology equipment, particularly excelling in the production of medical devices and biomedical diagnostic equipment. During the visit, the company's technical staff provided detailed introductions to the research background, technical characteristics, and clinical application of various products, showcasing the company's mission and commitment to driving medical technology innovation.

During the visit, Professor Han and his team also toured the company's newly built laboratory. The advanced equipment and the efficient, rigorous research atmosphere left a strong impression on the visiting faculty and students. Both sides, drawing on their own research backgrounds, discussed several professional technical issues encountered in the experimental and product development processes. The visiting faculty and students were greatly inspired by the discussions, particularly regarding the clinical translation of medical technology and technological innovation.

After the visit, both parties continued with an academic exchange session. After listening to a detailed briefing on the company’s main products, Director Han Hongbin emphasized that innovation in the field of medical technology relies on the deep integration of industry, academia, and research. The practical experience of Huarong Ketchon in technological research and development as well as industrialization has provided valuable insights for medical research and technology translation. During the discussion, both sides explored potential future collaboration opportunities, particularly in areas such as medical device development, technical training, and talent cultivation.
