Ant T Space visit
Mr. Zhen Shuai, representative of Ant Group, warmly welcomed the visiting teachers and students from Peking University. The group first toured the T-Space exhibition hall, where they were introduced to the Group’s mission, core businesses, honors, corporate culture, and social responsibility efforts. Ant Group’s innovative technologies in cloud computing, big data, encrypted payments, communications engineering, and AI large models left a lasting impression on the students.
Following the visit, the group moved to the iconic “Bright Summit” conference room for deeper discussions and a symbolic signing ceremony. Situated “above the clouds,” the “Bright Summit” metaphorically represents the belief that this collaboration will shed a warm and steady light on the future of China’s healthcare sector.
In his speech, Prof. Han Hongbin expressed heartfelt gratitude for Ant Group’s warm reception and shared an overview of the development and vision of Peking University’s Medical Technology discipline. Dr. Li Hongfeng provided a detailed account of the evolution and integration of medical technology at Peking University, highlighting the discipline’s rapid advancement and excellence over the years. He emphasized the Institute’s achievements under Dean Han’s leadership in areas such as scientific innovation, project development, translational research, base construction, and national-level strategic initiatives.
Prof. Zhang Tao, a vascular surgeon at Peking University People’s Hospital, presented the current progress of his department, which plays a key role within the university’s surgical system. The department has developed a highly efficient and precise diagnosis and treatment model, particularly excelling in addressing complex vascular conditions such as Budd–Chiari syndrome, and it has earned wide recognition from both peers and patients. As the first “Digital Doctor” in collaboration with Ant Health, Prof. Zhang exemplifies the ethics and empathy of a modern medical professional, as well as a deep passion for cutting-edge technology.
Mr. Zhen Shuai and other representatives introduced Alipay’s latest initiatives in the healthcare sector, including efforts in medical payments, health management, diagnostic interpretation, intelligent appointment systems, and more. He emphasized the company’s role in driving scientific and technological innovation, fostering new productivity forces, and building a modern industrial system. Ant Group is actively collaborating with medical institutions and universities nationwide to advance smart healthcare in multiple dimensions.
At the end of the session, Peking University’s Institute of Medical Technology and Alipay (Hangzhou) officially launched a seed fund cooperation. Prof. Han and Prof. Zhang also provided insightful answers to interdisciplinary questions from Ant Group staff, drawing on their extensive clinical experience. The discussion was warmly received, with many attendees noting they gained valuable new perspectives.
Throughout the visit, students from the Institute listened attentively, engaged in thoughtful discussions, and developed a deeper understanding of the role of emerging technologies in the future of healthcare. Looking ahead, the two parties will continue to expand academic exchanges, broaden collaboration areas, and promote the application of high technologies in medicine—working toward a “1 + 1 > 2” university-industry partnership model that contributes to both talent cultivation and technological innovation in the healthcare field.
