President Han Hongbin Leads Delegation to Visit The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Time:2025-05-21From May 13 to 17, 2025, President Han Hongbin of the Institute of Medical Technology, Peking University Health Science Center, led a delegation to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to deepen cooperative exchanges. During the visit in Hong Kong, the delegation successively visited these two renowned institutions. Through various forms such as academic seminars, cooperation negotiations, and on-site inspections of key laboratories, they conducted in-depth exploration of cross-regional and interdisciplinary innovative scientific research cooperation models.
Vice President Zhao Ruheng of PolyU, Dean Sham Ho-keung of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Professor Cai Jing, Professor Ip She-ping, Professor Ying Guanxiang, Assistant Professor Lai Tin, and other experts and scholars received the delegation and held talks on bilateral cooperation. The meeting conducted in-depth discussions on topics including the integrated innovation of medical artificial intelligence, joint application of scientific research projects, and talent training mechanisms, and reached important consensus on interdisciplinary integration and complementary advantages of resources. This marks that the cooperation between the two universities has entered a new stage of substantive advancement. After the talks, the delegation visited PolyU's scientific research platforms, including the Radiation Therapy Design and Simulation Laboratory, the Genomic Medicine Innovation Laboratory, the Assistive Technology Research Laboratory of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, and the Optometry Clinic, laying the foundation for the joint construction of multiple disciplinary directions in thefuture.

During the stay in Hong Kong, President Han Hongbin was also invited to visit the Department of Electronic Engineering of CUHK. He conducted in-depth exchanges with Professor Yuan Yixuan's team, and the two parties had enthusiastic discussions on key issues such as the coordination of scientific research directions, optimization of experimental design, and clinical transformation and application, and reached cooperation intentions in the fields of medical artificial intelligence and brain science large models. This exchange trip to Hong Kong not only deepened the understanding and friendship between the medical technology discipline of our university and Hong Kong universities, but also built a bridge for bilateral scientific research collaboration, joint talent training, and platform co-construction.
