On March 29, 2024, the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major project phase summary meeting was successfully held at the Chongqing International Expo Center. The meeting was jointly hosted by Peking University, Beihang University, Southeast University, and Shenzhen Bay Laboratory. The project invited Professor Cai Xinxia, a member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major project guidance group, to come to the site for guidance. Jiang Ming, Chen Huafu, Liang Dong, Chen Xun, Chen Xin, Zou Quan, Chen Ping, Liu Huipo, Zhuo Li, Niu Tianye, Li Chunlin, Niu Haijing, Wang Changming, Zheng Jianjun, Fang Yuan and more than 100 backbones of each research group attended the meeting, which was chaired by Professor Zhang Jicong.

Professor Han Hongbin, the leader of the major project, introduced the background, research objectives, construction significance and overall research tasks of this meeting and the establishment and approval of the "Major Project of Neurobiological Network Modeling and Application Research Integrating Brain Extracellular Space Structure and Function" by the Department of Information Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Zhang Jicong, Xie Zhaoheng, Sun Jianfei and Tong Zhiqian reported on the research progress of each group in the first quarter. Directors Sun Jiangtao, Yuan Yi, Tian Qiyuan, Huang Yu, Liu Xinyu and Zhang Jiuquan reported on the key technologies and supporting conditions required for the construction tasks of the major projects.

Professor Cai Xinxia commented on the project research work and gave full affirmation, pointing out its characteristics of being oriented towards life and health and facing the world's forefront. She hopes that the project team will promote in-depth scientific research on the basis of interdisciplinary development, and at the same time transform scientific research results into effective applications in clinical practice, so as to achieve an organic combination of scientific theory and practical application. Finally, according to the suggestions put forward by the academic committee members and experts, Professor Han carried out in-depth and detailed comprehensive deployment and careful arrangements for the key tasks of the project research to ensure that the project can proceed smoothly and achieve more significant results.

After the meeting, the project team members and guests visited the China Medical Equipment Association Medical Device Exhibition to further grasp the industry trends, clarify the main direction, and promote the high-quality development of the medical equipment industry. At the same time, they participated in the "Medical Technology Discipline Construction and Talent Training Seminar" organized by the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Equipment and Technology Committee of the China Medical Equipment Association to broaden the horizons of major project members and conduct in-depth discussions on the talent growth paths and conditions of team members.
