Dr. Yongsheng Zhou is Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology, Professor of Prosthodontics, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor. He also serves as Deputy Director of the National Center for Stomatology, the National Engineering Research Center for Oral Biomaterials and Digital Diagnosis and Treatment Equipment, and the National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases.

Dr. Zhou has received numerous national honors, including Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program, selection in the National Talents of the New Century Program, and the Ministry of Education’s Outstanding Talents of the New Century Award. He has also been named one of Beijing's Top 100 Leading Talents in Science and Technology, a Prominent Contributor to Innovation in Stomatology in China, and a Middle-aged and Young Expert with Outstanding Contributions. He is the Chief Scientist of a key project under the 13th Five-Year Plan and a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance.

Dr. Zhou holds many concurrent roles. He is the Convener of the Eighth Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a Party Committee Member and Executive Director of the Chinese Stomatological Association, and the former Chair of its Oral and Maxillofacial Rehabilitation Committee. He also serves as Vice Chair of multiple professional committees, including Prosthodontics and Stomatology under the Chinese Stomatological Association and the Chinese Society for Health Information and Big Data. He is a Standing Committee Member in various national academic subcommittees and holds leadership roles in multiple health, education, and standardization bodies. Internationally, he is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD) and the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and Co-Director of the ITI International Scholars Training Center. In addition, he serves as Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editor, or Editorial Board Member of over a dozen domestic and international journals, including SCI-indexed publications.

His main research interests include tissue regeneration in the oral and maxillofacial region, digital restoration, and translational applications. He has made original contributions in stem cell biology, biomaterials, and digital restoration technologies for complex oral and maxillofacial defects, as well as in virtual simulation-based teaching tools. He has published over 260 academic papers and holds more than 50 national patents. He has received five provincial or ministerial-level scientific and technological awards and leads more than 20 major research projects, including those funded by the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

In education, Dr. Zhou is deeply involved in curriculum development and innovation. He leads a national first-class undergraduate course, a Ministry of Education virtual teaching and research section, and a Beijing demonstration course on curriculum ideology and politics. He has received four provincial and ministerial-level teaching achievement awards and is recognized as a distinguished educator. He has edited or co-edited nearly 20 textbooks and monographs, including national-level and high-quality teaching materials. He also teaches two university-level MOOCs.

Dr. Zhou has been honored with numerous awards in clinical and educational practice, including National Excellent Director of a Resident Training Base, Excellent Counselor in Beijing Universities, Advanced Individual in Teachers' Ethics in Beijing, Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Physician by the Beijing Medical Association, and one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Doctors in the Capital.
