Dr. Ning Shen is a Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, Director of the Infectious Diseases Center, and Deputy Director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. She serves as Deputy Leader of the Infectious Diseases Group of the Respiratory Diseases Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chair  of the Foreign Affairs Working Committee of the Respiratory Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Standing Committee Member of the Respiratory Endoscopy and Interventional Branch of the Beijing Medical Association, and Editorial Board Member of the  Chinese Journal of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases , etc.

Her main research directions include early pathogen identification in respiratory infectious diseases, the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant bacteria, imaging evaluation, respiratory rehabilitation, and the development of new ventilators. She has established a chest imaging analysis platform for infectious diseases and a clinical cohort of hospital-acquired pneumonia/ventilator-associated pneumonia. She has published more than 100 academic treatises in domestic and foreign core journals and published eight monographs.
