Yueqin Huang is a Second-Level Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and the Director of Social Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Research Office, Peking University Institute of Mental Health/Sixth Hospital. She is the Recipient of State Council Special Allowance. Prof. Huang is the Vice Chairperson of China Disabled Persons' Federation, President/Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Director of Chinese Mental Health Journal , Chairperson of Crisis Intervention Committee of the Chinese Association for Mental Health, Chairperson of Elderly Medical-Nursing Integrated Care Branch of the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, Vice President of China Rehabilitation Association for Persons with Disabilities, Executive Committee Member of Rehabilitation International and Chair of Health and Function Committee, International Council Member of American Psychiatric Association, and Member of International Association for Suicide Prevention. She is the Fellow of World Academy of Art and Science and an Honorary Professor of University of Hong Kong. She earned the Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Peking University (formerly Beijing Medical College/Beijing Medical University). She has conducted research and teaching in psychiatric epidemiology, and led many national/ministerial/international projects, including the National Science and Technology Support Program project "Epidemiological Survey of Mental Disorders in Chinese Adults", Ministry of Health Public Welfare Industry Research Special Project "Burden of Mental Disorders and Healthcare Utilization in China" (selected for 2019 Top 10 Major Medical Advances in China), PI of National Key R&D Program of China "Chinese Mental Disorders Cohort Study", National PI for WHO World Mental Health Survey and 10/66 Dementia Research. She has mentored one postdoctoral fellow, 19 PhD students, and 17 master's students, and is currently supervising 5 PhD and 2 master's candidates. She lectured compulsory course Clinical Epidemiology for Peking University Health Science Center graduates. She has edited 8 textbooks/monographs as chief editor including China Mental Health Survey , Clinical Epidemiology , Manual of Psychiatric Disability Assessment , and contributed to 48 publications. Notably, she has published 357 academic papers (185 as first/corresponding author) and numerous popular science articles/videos/films.
