Dr. Yan Li is a Chief Optometrist in the Department of Ophthalmology & Optometry Center at Peking University People's Hospital. He is an optometrist certified by the Association of Optometrists in the UK and holds a Master's degree in Visual Engineering. He also serves as the Deputy Chief Optometrist (Professional Level 4) at the Optometry Center of Peking University People's Hospital.

Dr. Yan Li has long been engaged in eye health management and the development of informatized optometry systems. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, he is proficient in retinoscopy and pediatric optometry, scientific correction of complex refractive errors (including anisometropia, strabismus, and amblyopia), as well as eye health management for children and adolescents. He also has extensive experience in the operation and management of optometry centers.

Dr. Li organized the writing of Infection Control in Refractive Examinations of Infectious Ocular Surface Diseases in Medical Institutions, and participated in the compilation of Key Appropriate Technologies for the Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents, Guidelines for the Prevention of Myopia in Children and Adolescents during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and Technical Specifications for Visual Health Monitoring of Primary and Secondary School Students, all formulated by the National Health Commission. Entrusted by the National Health Commission, Dr. Li led the preparation of the public education manual Sunshine and Future · Popular Science Knowledge of Myopia Prevention and Control.

He participated in the national myopia monitoring survey of children and adolescents in 2019, jointly organized by the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Education. He also organized and carried out the national pilot program for appropriate myopia prevention and control technologies under the guidance of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau of the National Health Commission. Additionally, Dr. Li took part in professional support and academic exchange work on behalf of Peking University People's Hospital in the Tibet Autonomous Region, Shandong Province, and other regions.

He currently serves as a member of the National Myopia Prevention and Control Supervision Team for Children of the National Health Commission and as a lecturer for national training programs on visual screening for children aged 0-6 years.

In the past five years, Dr. Li has published more than 10 papers in SCI-indexed and core journals. He has been granted three projects by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project by the Huaxia Foundation, one internal research grant from Peking University, one project funded by the Health Commission of Kunming City, and one utility model patent. He has also undertaken four research projects commissioned by the National Health Commission.
