Dr. Yun Feng is a Chief Physician of the Department of Ophthalmology at Peking University Third Hospital, a Dual-appointed Associate Professor at the Institute of Medical Technology of Peking University, and a Doctoral Supervisor. She serves as the Deputy Director and Principal Investigator (PI) of the Beijing Key Laboratory for Reconstruction, Protection, and Rehabilitation of Ocular Nerve Injury, and as a medical supervisor for the "Medical-Engineering Interdisciplinary" program at Beihang University. She has been selected as a reserve talent for the discipline at Peking University Third Hospital and is recognized as a young scientist at Peking University Third Hospital.
Dr. Feng has long been engaged in research on corneal and ocular surface diseases, corneal tissue engineering, stem cell therapy, and intelligent wearable devices in ophthalmology. Her work focuses on the interdisciplinary integration of research on the pathogenesis of corneal diseases, new rapid diagnostic methods, precise treatment, and regenerative strategies. This innovative research encompasses basic applied science and clinical translational research.
In the past three years, as first or corresponding author, she has published 18 high-level papers in journals such as Experimental Eye Research , Cornea , Advanced Functional Materials , Angewandte Chemie (International Ed. in English), and Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology (with a total impact factor exceeding 66). She has presided over the Youth/General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 5G+ Medical and Health Application Pilot Project, the "Clinical Medicine + X" project at Peking University, and the Haidian Innovation and Transformation Special Project, among others.
Dr. Feng has been invited to deliver keynote reports at nine international conferences, contributed to the formulation of four expert consensus statements, and has applied for and been granted seven national patents.
Her transformed technologies/products have won the First Prize in the 4th Innovation and Transformation Competition of Peking University Third Hospital (2021), the Science and Technology Progress Award in Ophthalmology from the Chinese Association of Medical Equipment (2021), and the Merit Award in the Youth Project Group of the 2nd Capital Medical Innovation and Transformation Competition (2021). These innovations have also been selected as a pilot project in the "5G+ Medical and Health Application" initiative, launched by the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Dr. Feng innovatively developed the surgical technique and clinical application of corneal endothelial transplantation for the first time in China and won the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education (2019, as the third contributor). She has received grants and fellowships from prestigious institutions such as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) (2009), the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) (2011), and the Asian Corneal Society (ACS) (2018).
Dr. Feng is an elected member of the Asia-Pacific Ocular Trauma Society (APOTS), the International Lid and Meibomian Gland Working Group (LIME), and the TFOS Lifestyle Workshop Expert Consensus on Dry Eye, and is recognized as a Star of Tomorrow in Chinese Ophthalmology. She serves as a member of the Visual Physiology Group of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Deputy Director of the Youth Committee of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Beijing Medical Association, Deputy Leader of the Ophthalmic Laboratory Testing Group of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Association of Medical Equipment, a member of the Youth Committee of the Ophthalmologist Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and a member of the Youth Committee of the Ophthalmologist Branch of the Chinese Women Doctors Association.
