Hui Wang, MD, is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, the Director of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Peking University People's Hospital, and the Chair of Department of Laboratory Medicine, Peking University Health Science Center. She was the Recipient of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Her leadership extends through key roles in global and national professional organizations, with professional affiliations as the Voting Member of Breakpoint Working Group, Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing Committee of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), the Chair of Clinical Microbiology and Infection Branch of the Chinese Medical Association for Health Promotion and Education, the Standing Committee Member and Leader of Clinical Microbiology Group of the Chinese Society of Microbiology and Immunology, the Committee Member and Leader of Clinical Microbiology Group of the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine, and the Vice Chair of Beijing Society of Laboratory Medicine. She has undertaken over 30 national/provincial research projects and published 400+ academic papers. She serves as the Chief Editor of Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Testing (National 12th Five-Year Plan Key Publication) and the Lead Translator of Manual of Clinical Microbiology (11th & 12th Editions). Her representative awards include the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) and the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award.
Main Research Directions:
1. Innovative technologies for pathogen detection and diagnosis in infections;
2. Mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance and transmission;
3. Precision tracing and intervention technologies for infection outbreaks.
