Zhi Yang is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Associate Director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Peking University Health Science Center. His research focuses on the nuclear medicine molecular imaging, development and clinical translation of tumor-targeted molecular probes.

He holds pivotal leadership roles including Director of the NMPA Key Laboratory for Radiopharmaceutical Research and Evaluation, Director of the Beijing Center for Nuclear Medicine Quality Control and Improvement, Chairman of the Radiopharmaceuticals Committee of the Chinese Nuclear Society, and Chair-Elect of the Nuclear Medicine Committee of the Beijing Medical Association. Actively engaged in scholar publishing, Prof. Yang serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of  Oncoradiology , Executive Editorial Board Member of  Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging , Asia Deputy Editor-in-Chief of  Cancer Biotherapy and Radiopharmaceuticals , Editorial Board Member of  European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging , Editorial Board Member of  Chinese Journal of Clinicians  (Electronic Edition), Editorial Board Member of  Nuclear Medicine and Biology . He has published over 240 scientific papers, including over 120 SCI-indexed articles with cumulative IF > 490, and co-authored 9 professional books. He has spearheaded more than 40 research projects including the National 863 Key Program, MOST Key Projects, NSFC General Program, Beijing Natural Science Foundation Key Projects, Beijing-Nature External Cooperation Program, Beijing Health Commission "Sail" and "Summit" Programs, with total funding exceeding 11.9 million RMB. His intellectual property protfolio includes over 30 filed national invention patents, with 14 granted and 3 commercialized patented technologies generating technology transfers totaling 42.9 million RMB. His representative awards include the Second Prize and Third Prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, Third Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award, Third Prize of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, Third Prize of Beijing Medical Science and Technology Award, Third Prize and Best Innovation Award at Capital Translational Medicine Innovation Competition by Beijing Health Commission, Outstanding Contribution Award from Nuclear Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association, and Zhongwai Medical Education Award of Peking University Health Science Center. As a Doctoral Supervisor, Prof. Yang has mentored 17 PhD and 14 master students, with trainees consistently receiving multiple honors including the National Scholarship, Innovation Talent Award, and Peking University Outstanding Students. Notably, all of his graduates have attained Peking University/Beijing Municipal Outstanding Graduate certifications.
