Junjie Wang is a Professor, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor, Postdoctoral Mentor, the Director of Radiotherapy Department at Peking University Third Hospital, and the Director of Brachytherapy Center at Peking University Health Science Center. He is the Chairman of Radiation Oncology Society of the Chinese Medical Association. His pioneering contributions include: 1) introduced radioactive seed brachytherapy to China in 2001, 2) pioneered CT-guided seed implantation in 2002, treating recurrent/metastatic cancers in head & neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and spine, 3) rectal cancer recurrence study incorporated into NCCN Guidelines in 2014, 4) integrated 3D printing and laser navigation to standardize seed implantation in 2015. His research fundings include the National Natural Science Foundation Major Program, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Major Project, Capital Health Development Research Fund, and MOE Doctoral Program Fund. He has mentored 30+ graduate students, edited 10 academic monographs, and won the Second Prize of Ministry of Education Science and Technology Innovation Award and theThird Prize of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award.
