Dr. Zhaofeng Zhang is an Associate Professor with a doctorate degree, originally from Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province. His primary research areas include nutrition and disease, precision nutrition, and geriatric nutrition.

Dr. Zhang completed his undergraduate studies in clinical medicine. He currently collaborates with clinical departments across multiple hospitals, accumulating extensive practical experience and actively promoting the concept of  restoring nutrition to front-line treatment .

His research focuses on the impact and mechanisms of the interaction between dietary factors (dietary patterns, prebiotics, probiotics, and bioactive plant compounds) and environmental factors on aging and chronic diseases such as diabetes, kidney diseases, and hyperuricemia. His work spans from organelle-level and cellular experiments, to animal models and human population studies, covering both mechanistic insights and preventive interventions.

Dr. Zhang has led or served as a key contributor in over 20 research projects, including national science and technology support programs, grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, the Doctoral Program Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and various industry-academia collaboration projects. He has published over 150 academic papers, including 80 SCI-indexed research articles, and holds an H-index of 32.

As a major contributor, he has won 1 second prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award, 1 second prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements Award (Natural Science Award) of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, 1 third prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, 2 second prizes of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, 1 third prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, and 1 second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Nutrition Society.

He also serves as the Vice President and Secretary-General of the Beijing Nutrition Society, an executive committee member of the Geriatric Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society, an executive committee member of the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Control Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society, an executive director of the Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Branch of the Chinese Association for Student Nutrition and Health Promotion, a member of the Diabetes Committee of the China Medicine Education Association, an executive committee member of the Nutrition and Food Hygiene Professional Committee of the Beijing Preventive Medicine Association, an expert for the " Nutrition on Campus " health promotion program in Beijing, and a member of the Geriatric Health Professional Committee of the Beijing Health Education Association.
